We invite undergraduate students to apply for a 10-week IN-PERSON OR VIRTUAL research program hosted by our GeoCAFES team during Summer 2022.

This year's theme: Redefining Geosciences

Together, mentors and mentees will explore what it means to be a scientist and will work together to understand their own research within the broader context of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics).

In addition to full time research, undergraduate researchers will participate in a number of professional and personal development seminars and mentoring activities. All participants, both in-person and remote, will have a virtual community via GeoLatinas to support their journey.

Participants will receive a stipend of $5,000. Participants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at a bachelor's degree granting institution or recently graduated. Travel to MSU, on campus housing, and a food plan will be provided at no cost to the in-person participants. However, if the public health situation does not allow for an in-person summer, GeoCaFES will be conducted completely online. Any changes made will be communicated to candidates in late spring.
